Assurance & Reviews

We play a vital role in strengthening the level of corporate governance in the public sector. We are responsible for planning and conducting reviews to improve accounting, financial and operational policies, controls, systems and processes.

The Assurance & Review (AR) Branch of AGD seeks to raise the level of professionalism of the Internal Audit Units throughout the Public Service and to continuously enhance the quality of public administration and corporate governance of the Public Service through independent reviews.

The Value-For-Money (VFM) Review Office was set up in March 2007 in the Accountant-General’s Department to conduct regular performance-based reviews on spending by Ministries and Statutory Boards to evaluate how funds have been used and whether goals have been achieved. This was announced at the MOF Committee of Supply Sitting in March 2007.
