AGD held our very first guest lecture on Government Budgeting and Accounting in NUS, where over a hundred Accountancy undergraduates attended the session!
Before the lecture, a mini networking session was held for the students to learn more about AGD. The students chatted with AGDians over the mini reception, before proceeding for the lecture. Director for Financial Reporting shared an overview of the budgeting cycle at the Government, highlighting the importance of prudent budgeting. Being unfamiliar with the Government’s cash basis of accounting, students were given an opportunity to understand its differences from accrual accounting.
On the whole, the guest lecture was a success, with students taking home valuable concepts on government budgeting and accounting.
