Are you aspiring to become a Chief Finance Officer, Chief Treasury Officer, Chief Audit Executive or Chief Operations Officer? At AGD, we will equip you with vital experiences and skillsets across diverse functions, preparing you for supervisory roles and future C-suite positions.
Your role will span crucial responsibilities including examining whole-of-government financial issues, forecasting and monitoring Government's treasury and investment position, enhancing public sector corporate governance, and maintaining the integrity of Government Accounting systems. Through this programme, you will build strong foundations in key areas of finance, operations and whole-of-government policy formulation.
You will be developed and given exposure to different finance functions to help you acquire necessary competencies, which will accelerate your career development as you take on leadership responsibilities early in your career.

What We Are Looking For

Tertiary education in Accountancy, Business, Data Analytics, Economics, or Finance related disciplines

Successful candidates will be required to acquire the relevant professional competencies or qualification if they do not have a recognised Accountancy/Finance degree/masters
Selection Process
To select the best talents to join our Finance Associate Programme, our selection process evaluates candidates based on their competencies and personal qualities through a series of written test, psychometric tests and interviews.
Journey of a Finance Associate (General)
The FAP (General) track aims to develop Finance Professionals to take on apex C-Suite Finance and Governance positions across Public Service agencies.

Journey of a Finance Associate (Ops-Tech)
The FAP (Ops-Tech) track aims to develop Finance Professionals specialising in Ops-Tech to take on apex C-Suite positions such as Chief Operations Officer (COO) to manage and run central systems/operations and shared services.

AGD Induction Programme
As a Finance Associate, you will undergo a comprehensive induction programme comprising three modules - Basic, Foundational and Developmental – during your first two years with AGD. These modules are specially designed to equip you with essential concepts in Public Finance functions and help you apply them throughout your deployment stints.
Your journey begins with the Basic module, providing you with a broad overview of AGD's central roles including cash management, financial reporting, assurance and Value-For-Money reviews, and financial administration.
Between your deployment stints, you will participate in the Foundational module, where you will focus on applying key financial knowledge and developing soft skills through case studies and hands-on exercises.
Your induction concludes with the Developmental module, where you will explore core personal and professional development areas through best practices sharing and engaging discussions with senior policy-makers and finance leaders.
Deployment Stints
During your deployment stints, you will be attached to AGD's directorates to learn more about our central roles and functions. You will also have the opportunity to work outside AGD through attachments to ministries and statutory boards.
Mentoring
To help you quickly adapt to the working environment, you will be paired with a buddy who will provide support and answer your queries as you settle into your new role. You will also receive guidance on your professional development and career aspirations through mentorship by our Senior Leaders.
Post Associates Programme
Upon graduation from the programme, you will participate in a central posting exercise called "One Career, Many Opportunities" (OCMO) where you will choose from many available roles based on your desired Route of Advancement (RoA), within AGD and/or across ministries and statutory boards. These postings aim to equip you with the necessary experience and skillsets across a spectrum of functions and areas, preparing you to take on supervisory roles in the future.
